STORYTIME: Nick the Napper
Nick the Napper knew he would be in a bit of a bother when he picked Pop’s boy during the Q&A. “My Pop says you nap a lot. How do you nap so much and still sell so many apples? My Pop and I do love your apples.”
Nick the Napper straightened out his tie and smoothed out his blazer lapel, then said: “Kids always ask the best questions, am I right? Now, if I told you the answer, I wouldn’t have a business”. Pop’s boy perked his ears up like a puppy.
He leaned forward and pointed to the boy, then all of the other young ones in the room. “But, let me tell you, if you work hard, are willing to want it just a bit more, you too can have an apple field as big as mine”. Pop’s boy tilted his full head to one side.
“Eh, ok ok. Look, it’s all a bit technical. The truth is we just formed efficiencies up and down our logistical platform, synergistically creating a link between marketing and ops that is world class; at the frontier”. Pop’s boy looked like he just took a wet shit on the carpet.
Nick stepped off the stage floor, Pop yelled out: “Hey! But what of my field. You know about what’s going on down on Main, right? Our crops are faltering. Many of them used your ideas”.
